Roles & responsibilities:

  • Since 2020, Abbie has worked at Barker Brettell as a CIPA qualified patent paralegal, assisting three patent attorneys: Andy Tranter, Oliver Pooley, and Katie Howe; who practice in the disciplines of engineering, physics and chemistry.
  • Abbie oversees a large portfolio of patents, designs and copyright matters. She works with a wide range of clients – from individual entrepreneurs to multinational corporations – as well as conducting assignment programmes.
  • Day-to-day Abbie supports the patent team to ensure the correct workflows and systems are being used to achieve the most efficient service for our clients. She is also responsible in ensuring a high standard of training is provided to our paralegals when new systems are internally or externally introduced by the UKIPO, EPO, EUIPO or WIPO.
