Do you have a European Patent Application?

Beat the renewal fees hike on European Patents Application

Hundreds of dollars to be saved on third and fourth year renewals

The European Patent Office (EPO) has announced, for the third year in a row, that there will be an increase to its official fees, which is to take effect from 1 April 2024. The majority of official fee increases will be around 4%.

However, the most significant increase is for third and fourth year renewal fees. These are set to increase by 30% and 28% respectively. By providing Barker Brettell with your instructions to renew before 31 March 2024 we can renew your European Patent (EP) Application at the current rate before any increase takes effect.

You can pay the third year renewal fee up to six months early, and the fourth year renewal and other renewals up to three months early.

Should you have any questions or wish to provide your instructions, please do not hesitate to contact our renewals department at renewals@barkerbrettell.co.uk or your usual Barker Brettell attorney.
