Overview:
Jacob is a trainee trade mark attorney with over three years of experience in trade marks. Jacob undertook a placement year under the supervision of Lucy Walker between the second and third year of his Law degree. Following a successful year in the firm, Jacob continued working at the firm part-time during his final year of study before graduating.
Jacob has accrued a plethora of experience across a wide variety of clients and industries, especially banking, fashion and technology, and enjoys breaking down what IP can do for clients through training days and discussions. Jacob is keen to continue with client on-boarding processes and helping all types of clients strategise how best to utilise their IP from a commercially driven approach.
Experience:
• Experienced in extensive clearance work for a variety of different clients spanning numerous industries
• Experienced in discussing strategy and initial steps with new clients looking for advice on where to start
• Overcome multiple objections at the UKIPO via hearings
• Conducted multiple training sessions at client’s offices answering the questions regarding how best to utilise IP, strategy and miscellaneous requests
• Up to date with the current legal ongoings regarding AI and IP, with a dissertation focussing on how best to resolve the ownership issues presented by generative AIs rapid improvement
