Francesco Di Lallo is an associate, chartered UK and European patent attorney with a background in mathematics and AI working with a range of clients, including multinational corporations, SMEs, university spinoffs, and individual inventors.
Having a background in computer science and mathematics, Francesco is well placed in dealing with inventions in excluded subject matter areas, such as computer programs and business methods. Fran is also able to quickly understand complex algorithms and implementation details. They have a wealth of experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the fields of AI, financial technology, cryptography, and other computer-implemented inventions.
Francesco has a first-class BSc in Mathematics from the University of Warwick and an MSc with distinction in Machine learning and Artificial intelligence (AI) from the University of Birmingham completing a project that involved reconstructing accelerated MRI scans using modular encoder-decoder convolutional neural networks.

- Advising on patentability of inventions within excluded subject matter areas, such as novel AI algorithms, computer-implemented methods within the area of fintech, and cryptographic methods
- Providing freedom to operate opinions, non-infringement opinions, and patentability opinions
