New senior partner at Barker Brettell
Our senior partner Geoff Lomas has retired from Barker Brettell with effect from 31 March 2009. Geoff has been with Barker Brettell since 1972, and was instrumental in establishing the firm's Southampton office. He has held the senior partner role for 5 years and has guided the firm through its transition to limited liability partnership status.
The new senior partner, with effect from 1 April 2009, is Priscilla Makovski. She has been with the firm since 1977, and became a partner in 1989. She has a wealth of experience to draw on to oversee the firm's continued success.
New promotions
Barker Brettell is pleased to announce the promotion of two of its attorneys.
Andrew Locke and Binesh Patel have been promoted to be partners of Barker Brettell. Andrew and Binesh are both patent attorneys. Andrew is based in our Southampton office and specialises in the mechanical and electrical subject fields. Binesh specialises in high-tech subject matter, including computer software and mobile and land based telecommunications; he works from our London office.
