Jill advises across all aspects of the selection, availability and registrabilty of Trade Marks as well as the development of Trade Marks filing strategies, prosecution and registration of UK Trade Marks, Community Trade Marks and International Trade Marks, the conduct of Trade Mark Oppositions, protection reviews, and other Trade Mark related matters.
Jill has experience in acting for a wide range of clients from individuals and business start-ups to SMEs and large national and multi-national companies across a diverse range of fields and activities including financial, manufacturing, hospitality, service and publishing sectors.
Jill joined the Trade Marks Department of Barker Brettell LLP in 2008 following over 20 years' experience in the Trade Marks field. She qualified as a Trade Mark Attorney in 1990 and has extensive experience in dealing with Trade Mark matters before the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), the Community Trade Marks Office (OHIM) and the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) as well as Trade Marks issues in countries throughout the world. Jill became an Associate in 2008.
Jill has an Honours Degree in Commerce from the University of Birmingham.
Outside work Jill enjoys swimming, listening to music and keeping in touch with family and friends.
